The main conclusion of the recent book edited by Jan Cremers and Sigurt Vitols, «Takeovers with or without worker voice», is that the EU Takeover Bids Directive needs to be revised, as it does not provide an adequate level of workers’ rights in its current form. The report includes a restructuring section where data from the ERM show that the total number of new jobs announced by employers has converged with the number of job losses announced . The Eurofound has just launched a report which examines how public authorities are currently regulating labour market intermediaries across Member States, highlighting the effectiveness or otherwise of different registration or licensing schemes.
